In a strong show of commitment to listening to the people, former Deputy President of Kenya hosted a consultative meeting with elected Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from Nakuru County at his Wamunyoro Residence in Nyeri. The gathering served as a platform to discuss the socioeconomic challenges facing the county and prioritize solutions that align with the needs of the common mwananchi.
Listening to the People
The former Deputy President emphasized that the people are the ultimate custodians of power, as enshrined in the Constitution. "I continue to listen to the people as they are the ultimate owners of the power," he noted.
The MCAs, being the closest elected representatives to the electorate, presented critical issues affecting the county. Their insights, rooted in day-to-day interactions with the grassroots, reflect the pulse of the common wananchi.
